Do electronic pest repellers really work?

My mom just got a pest repeller and it seems to be working well against mice.
Within the first 24 hours i see mice running all over the house like they’ve gone insane.
The following days no mice can be seen, but there are still ants.

Is My Landlord in Charge of Pest Control?

Now that is has warmed up, my new apartment is riddled with ants. They are coming through the baseboards in multiple places. I’ve kept my kitchen clean, but they are now getting into my cat’s food dish that sits on the floor. Is pest control part of my landlord maintaining the apartment? (I already have numerous issues with the apartment and would like to move out at the end of the school semester)
I’ve tried the cinnamon, but they just come out of some new place the next day!

I want to purchase a liquid to help control spiders, ants,betteles,etc. But i want a DIY (Do It Yourself) solution where i can but at Homedepot or Lowes.
